Blegny-mine, province of Liège, Belgium
Located between Liège and Maastricht, Blegny-Mine stands out as one of only four coal mines in Europe where the underground galleries are still accessible to visitors via the original shaft.
Blegny-Mine, along with three other major mining sites in Wallonia, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2012.
Our collaboration with Blegny-Mine was entirely remote, including the installation of the tool and in-depth training. Their choice to configure the tool themselves, accompanied by a significant demand for training to fully master the tool, was motivated by the desire to import their exports in Excel format into CollectiveAccess themselves.
In the near future, a publication of the collections is planned, thus offering a virtual window on this unique mining heritage.
