Jewish Museum of Belgium, Brussels
The Jewish Museum of Belgium, located at 21 rue des Minimes in Brussels, brings together a vast collection of objects of Jewish tradition, mainly from Europe, Asia and Africa, the oldest of which date back to the 18th century. More recent objects come mainly from the regions east of the Rhine and the countries around the Mediterranean basin.
The Jewish Museum of Belgium addresses Jewish history and culture through exhibitions and activities geared towards sharing, discovery and accessibility to all audiences.
Anchored in the present, it is a multidisciplinary cultural and artistic venue. The objective of the management team is to promote knowledge and understanding of Jewish history, religion and cultures.
Through its three main missions, which are the conservation of Belgium's Jewish heritage, temporary exhibitions on current topics and educational activities for school groups, the team is trying to build the face of the New Museum that will emerge by 2024.
IdéesCulture has taken over the hosting of CollectiveAccess, already used mainly in Dutch within the institution, supported users with in-depth training, and modified the deployment of the collection publication interface to enable multilingualism and improve the online presence of the collections.
