Privacy policy for idéesculture applications.

1. Publisher and data controller

The applications described here are published by IDEESCULTURE SAS, a company registered with the RCS of Le Mans (France), with its head office at 5 rue de Constantine, 72000 Le Mans, France. For any question relating to this policy:

idéesculture acts as data controller only for the data strictly required for the applications to work (see § 3). Data entered by a user into a third-party CollectiveAccess instance is the responsibility of the organisation that operates that instance, which is the data controller for such data.

2. Applications covered

This policy applies to the following applications, published by idéesculture:

• CA Image Uploader — iOS, macOS, Windows. CollectiveAccess companion: uploads photos and PDFs to the instance chosen by the user.
• Récolement — macOS, Windows. CollectiveAccess companion: museum inventory-audit tool (Musées de France plugin), usable offline.
• Folleville — iOS, Android. Visit application published with unguide.fr for the Folleville heritage site.
• Notre-Dame de Brebières — iOS, Android. Visit application published with unguide.fr for the Notre-Dame de Brebières basilica (Albert, Somme, France).

All of these applications rest on the same principle: idéesculture operates no server that receives user data. They contain no tracker, no analytics, no advertising SDK, no automatic crash reporting and no telemetry. No data is transmitted to idéesculture.

3. CA Image Uploader

3.1 Purpose

CA Image Uploader lets a cultural-heritage professional (museum, archive, library…) upload an image or a PDF — captured with the device camera, chosen from the photo library or picked in the Files app — directly to their organisation's own CollectiveAccess instance. The application is a plain client: each user connects to the instance they choose.

3.2 Data stored locally on the device

The application stores the following items in its local configuration file (on the user's device only):

• the URL of the CollectiveAccess instance;
• the username and password used to authenticate against that instance;
• the object-type and representation codes, and the import path, specific to that instance;
• a local technical log file used for diagnostics, which does not leave the device.

These items only leave the device to authenticate against the CollectiveAccess instance chosen by the user, over HTTPS. They are not transmitted to any other party, including idéesculture.

3.3 Media files uploaded

Photos and PDFs selected by the user are sent only to the CollectiveAccess instance the user configured, over HTTPS (for some instances, via SFTP upload to the same server). These files never transit through an idéesculture server nor any third party.

3.4 Permissions requested by the application

• Camera — “The camera is used to photograph an object or document to upload into CollectiveAccess.”
• Photo library — “Access to the photo library lets you pick an existing image to upload into CollectiveAccess.”

No image captured or picked is retained or transmitted by idéesculture.

4. Récolement

Récolement is a desktop companion (macOS and Windows) built for museums running récolement décennal (decennial inventory audit) campaigns using the Musées de France plugin of CollectiveAccess. It connects to the organisation's CollectiveAccess instance to synchronise campaigns and records, then runs locally, including offline.

The same principles as § 3 apply: instance URL, credentials and auth tokens stored locally, HTTPS transport, no data sent to idéesculture. Synchronised record details (object identifiers, statuses, audit notes…) stay on the device and on the organisation's CollectiveAccess instance.

5. Folleville & Notre-Dame de Brebières

Folleville and Notre-Dame de Brebières are visit applications published with the unguide.fr platform. Their content (text, images, audio) is bundled inside the application; no server connection is required after installation, apart from updates published through the app stores.

5.1 Location (opt-in)

These apps include a “nearby points of interest” feature. That feature uses the device's location on-device only, to trigger the display of content linked to a specific stop when the user approaches it. The location is never transmitted — not to idéesculture, not to unguide.fr, not to any third party. The user can decline this permission at any time in their device settings; the app remains usable through manual point-of-interest selection.

5.2 No analytics

No tracker, analytics tool, automatic crash report or advertising SDK is embedded in these applications. They collect no data about the user, including in anonymised form.

6. Sharing with third parties

idéesculture shares no data with third parties, for the simple reason that it collects none. Data that the user enters into a remote CollectiveAccess instance travels exclusively between their device and that instance, which is administered by their organisation.

7. Security

Network communications between the CollectiveAccess companion applications and the user's organisation's instance are carried over HTTPS. Credentials required for these communications are stored only on the user's device, protected by the standard mechanisms provided by the operating system.

8. Data retention and deletion

Data stored locally (settings, log file, bundled content) is kept as long as the application is installed on the device. Uninstalling the application permanently deletes this local data.

Files uploaded to a remote CollectiveAccess instance remain there subject to the retention policy of the organisation that operates the instance. Deletion or rectification requests concerning that data must be sent to that organisation, which is the sole data controller for such content.

9. Your rights (GDPR)

As idéesculture is established in France, any processing of personal data falls under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Informatique et Libertés Act. Because idéesculture collects no data through its applications, it holds no record about you to consult, rectify or delete.

For any request relating to data you have entered into a CollectiveAccess instance (an object record, a media file uploaded…), please contact the organisation that operates that instance: museum, archive, library, government department, foundation… idéesculture has no direct access to that data.

As a last resort, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence within the European Union.

10. Applications and children

CA Image Uploader and Récolement are professional tools and are not intended for children. The Folleville and Notre-Dame de Brebières visit apps can be used by visitors of any age: as no data is collected, no specific age restriction is necessary.

11. Changes to this policy

idéesculture may update this policy — for instance to reflect a new application version or a regulatory change. The effective date at the top of the page is updated on every change. Previous versions can be provided on request.

12. Applicable law

This policy is governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Le Mans (France), subject to any mandatory provisions that apply.
